Dr. Gustavo Rifé

I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist in the State of Virginia. I attended the Universidad Católica Argentina School of Law and Political Sciences in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and the Universidad Nacional de Buenos Aires School of Law and Social Science in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I was awarded a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Psychology from LaSalle University (Summa Cum Laude).  I was awarded a Master of Sciences degree in Developmental Psychology from the Johns Hopkins University, and I was awarded a Doctorate of Clinical Psychology degree (Psy.D.) from the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University.

I am a bilingual and culturally competent clinical and forensic psychologist. I also have specialized expertise in working with immigrants and refugees, and in handling the complexities inherent in working with linguistically and culturally diverse populations. I am fully fluent in English and Spanish.

I maintain a private practice designed to be a culturally competent assessment and treatment center. My practice provides comprehensive psychological services that include, but are not limited to: psychological evaluations; family assessments; immigration and naturalization services evaluations; individual, family, and group therapy; psycho-educational services and workshops; and consultation.

Organizational clients include: the US Department of Health and Human Services - Office of Refugee Resettlement; the US Department Homeland Security; Crowell & Moring LLP; Arlington County Department of Human Services; Northern Virginia Juvenile Detention Home; Fairfax-Falls Church County Department of Family Services; Shenandoah County Juvenile Detention Center; Legal Momentum; Fairfax Department of Rehabilitation Services; Arlington Public Schools; and the Latin American Youth Center; among others.

I have conducted business and numerous trainings and presentations relating to psychology; immigrant children, adolescents, and their families; multi-cultural issues in evaluation and therapy with refugees, for organizations including the Office of Refugee Resettlement – Department of Undocumented Children Services; Fairfax-Falls Church County Department of Family Services; Northern Virginia Juvenile Detention Home; and the Latin American Youth Center, among others.
